How should your ideal structured resume look like?

Writing a curriculum vitae should not be a problem. Writing a resume RIGHT is no longer a problem. And to write it is interesting and otherwise, it is the hardest nut. Some job seekers underestimate their resume writing and the result is that despite their bloated experience, perfect education, and knowledge, their resume will end up in a "basket".

I have been recruiting for several years. Hundreds of biographies went through my hands - a few really bad ones, a lot of average ones, but also a lot of really exceptional ones. And we will talk more about them. I have written for you some tips on how to write a quality professional resume that will stand out from the board. Before we start considering using one of the free printable resume builders that make it much easier.

How to write a structured resume

A structured CV is not written in complete sentences, but in words = in points. When writing such a resume, you can use the resume templates that are available on the Internet. Job portals or other sites offer templates that will guide you through the entire CV, so you won't miss anything. This method is probably the simplest. The disadvantage of structured CV templates on job portals is that they are used by many people, so you will definitely not be interested in the visuals at first sight.

Another option is to turn to companies that specialize in creating CVs. You will pay extra, but the result will be worth it.

If you want to write your own interesting CV for which you don't want to spend too much money, see what a resume should look like.

Personal information

Make your name, surname, and academic degree sufficiently visible, and the staff will remember you more easily.

The photo

Although photography is not a mandatory item, you do not have to hesitate to attach it to your CV. Thanks to it, you will establish more personal contact with the personnel already when viewing the CV. Again, photography should look professional and up to date. Forget the photo from the celebration or holiday for which you received 152 likes on the social network.

Short performance

Again, an optional item that can help you. But only if you come up with something original. However, do not force creatively in positions where it is not appropriate. Do not overdo it with length, 3 or 4 sentences are enough. Beware of empty phrases and clichés.

Education

Indicate your education in this part of the CV. Focus not only on schools but also on courses and training. These not only demonstrate your other abilities but also that you are active and like to learn new things.

Work experience

Even with a summary of experience, you should focus primarily on relevant work experience. Describe them in detail, mention the others only marginally (if you are applying for a job as a rocket engineer, the personnel will most likely not be interested in your 3-month brigade at a fast-food stand).

Additional skills and abilities

Include in this section of your resume the specific skills you have and what the position requires. In particular, choose what a potential employer might appreciate as beneficial and original. You will not spoil anything by mentioning your achievements and significant projects of which you have been apart.

Language skills

Indicate your level of language proficiency using standardized levels. Please also indicate your native language in this section. This is important if you are sending a CV in a foreign language or have foreign roots (especially if you are applying for a position where language is the main working tool).

Computer skills

Include in your computer knowledge the level of control of the MS Office program package and other programs with which you have experience (SAP, Photoshop, programming, or other specialized software). Again, select the order by relevance to the position. Evaluate the level of control on the scale basics - expert.

Soft skills (features)

Soft skills are also mentioned in the CV as qualities. Whether you opt for the first or second method, I recommend avoiding naming the list as "communicative, creative, responsible, able to learn new things", especially in terms of the qualities we find in every second resume. If this is indeed the case, base the situation on a specific situation.

Other specific knowledge

If you know accounting, cash handling, business correspondence, you have a driver's license (you are an active driver), you have obtained other certificates or authorizations, state those too.
Attention: If you are weaker in something, resp. the position requires a specific competence that you do not have, you better not include it in your CV. You may be "thrown in the water" at a job interview and you will need to prove that you have the skill.

Hobbies

Although this item is not required, it can suggest something. From your interests, HR can create a more accurate picture of your personality. Again, however, not on the basis of the general list of 'sports, reading, friends, internet, travel'. Skip this straight away. It is better to state what books/genre you are reading, in which country you liked it, the successes in a particular sport or to describe how the given activity contributed to the development of professional competencies.

References

References are a required part of the CV. If you want to include them in your online CV, do not forget to ask the contact persons for prior consent.

You can also include a link to the website, articles, or other projects you want to present to your CV.
